Hello Leann Ogasawara, Thank you for showing me the fix. It worked charmingly. I removed nvidia-common, ignored all the error messages and reinstalled it. Afterwards I executed apt-get update and apt-get upgrade. that fixed the rest. apt-get autoclean and apt-get autoremove now run through without complaining any more.
