*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 281940 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/281940
I just reinstalled karmic with the minimal cd (here:https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/MinimalCD). The bug is still there. ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: Invalid => Incomplete ** Description changed: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=8054397
"I'm trying to install a minimal Karmic base system with the netboot CD... Problem is, even when I select no tasks whatsoever, it decides to pull in more than 120 extra packages including Gnome, OpenOffice, and OpenJDK - basically the whole Ubuntu/Gnome package. I've tried using the "manual package selection" option, but that causes the installer to bug out claiming that it can't install x11-common... Help?"
+ + Edit: This also affects the "minimal cd". (here: + https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/MinimalCD). Even if you + don't select any additional packages at install time (via tasksel), you + end up with stuff like open-office.org (without a desktop environment). -- Karmic "minimal" install pulls in tons of rubbish https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/442872 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
