I've also run udisks --show-info /dev/sda5
The output is wrong so I'll attach it. It should say it's ext3 but most fields
are blank

** Attachment added: "udisks-sda5"
   http://launchpadlibrarian.net/39248876/udisks-sda5

** Description changed:

- Binary package hint: gnome-disk-utility
+ Binary package hint: udisks 1.0.0~git20100212.aae17d9-0ubuntu1

I have captured a screenshot of palimpsest and gparted.
Palimpsest currently does not detect well my extended partition.

  It shows /dev/sda4 "Extended 5.2GB (W95 Ext'd LBA) (0x0f)" and next to it 2
partitions, both of 5.2GB:
  - /dev/sda5 of type "extended"
  - /dev/sda (with no number) of free space

the correct partitions are (from fdisk and gparted)
  /dev/sda4 extended (W95 Ext'd LBA)
  /dev/sda5 ext3 (logical partition inside /dev/sda4)

So /dev/sda5 is not recognized as a logical partition insider the
extended container (/dev/sda4). Also the free space is not available, it
must be a result of not having recognized the logical partition.
