The nouveau stack in Lucid is currently changing from using nouveau-kernel-source to using the linux-backports-modules-nouveau package. The nouveau testing page here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Testing/NouveauEvaluation has instructions for testing nouveau on Lucid.
