Hi All! Just an update to my above messages dating back to November 2009.
Yesterday I finally decided to upgrade my wife's Fujitsu (details above) to Ubuntu 9.10 - thought that this problem with Intel 4965 and 5GHz wireless-N would have been already fixed. Unfortunately not! However now it seems that this problem is now probably fixed in Kernel 2.6.32. Does anyone know when it will be available thru Synaptic Packet Manager? So far I'll have to use the Fujitsu in G-network. (creating a bottle neck to Internet connection) Cheers!
