Hi, I'm the upstream kernel maintainer of the m5602 module. AFAICT, this only affects the m5602 connected to a s5k83a sensor. Unfortunately I don't have this hardware combination which makes this issue more hard to debug. If possible I need someone with the issue to compile the vanilla kernel and perform a git bisect to identify the offending commit.
