I've found out, that the problem emerges, when following Compiz settings of Enhanced Desktop Zoom are set:
- Scale the mouse pointer - Dynamic mouse pointer scale - Hide original mouse pointer If they are activated and I've used desktop zoom, all animated mouse pointer disappearing. However the problem is not solved, by restarting compiz (it persists even, when I only use metacity). Therefore I think, it is still a driver problem. It also does not disappear when suspending/resume the machine. I also have sometimes problems with the display of my mouse pointer (it sometimes got scrambled when moved between two screens or is flickering every 400px). One year ago, these problems happend in an older version of the radeon driver very often, until a bug I reported were fixed.
