Hi. I have a very similar issue than Chris. After a network-manager package
upgrade (due to "grey button on discovering hidden networks" bug), network
manager cannot obtain a IP address via DHCP. iwconfig show that my computer is
associated to the desired network, but I must run "dhclient wlan0" to obtain a
IP address.
Network-manager version is
"network-manager_0.8~a~git.20091013t193206.679d548-0ubuntu1_i386.deb" on Ubuntu
9-10.
When I obtain the IP address I can ping the gateway, surf the Internet,...so
the connection is well established. But network-manager icon looks like it is
trying to connect to the network yet. Every time I disconnect, I must run
dhclient to connect again.
It seems like network-manager is failing to execute dhcp or is stuck on
something else.
