Thanks for your bug report. Unfortunately, because this bug is not
reported against any package, it didn't get any attention during a long
time. Therefore, would it be possible for you to confirm if you can
still reproduce this bug with latest ubuntu version? The latest ubuntu
version is currently ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala.

If you can still reproduce the bug, can you also verify if this bug
happens with any other operating system than Linux only to confirm that
this is not related to a hardware failure? If you have a Windows CD, you
could simply try to see if it boot, that would probably enough to verify
if this issue is caused by ubuntu or by some hardware fault.
