As I can see now, only gdm related warnings or errors are presented in /var/log/syslog such as

Probably a more experienced bug hunter will see something more specific too. But turning back to the earlier mentioned /var/log/gdm/:0-greeter.log file, I checked and the /var/log/gdm/.config folder is empty.
