Yes, linux-restricted is installed. I'm not sure if I mentioned this but 
I was just mentioning the bug and I have also provided HOW i was about 
to fix it on my machine. It looks like the nvidia-kernel that is being 
downloaded from the aptitude isn't the latest kernel, even though it 
says it is, but I'm not sure. How I fixed it was by downloading the 
latest nvidia drivers from nvidia.com and the X worked perfectly fine 
after I installed it.
