@austin_is: Please apply the attached patch. It adds some additional debug messages to the user-space firmware loader script. After applying the script, reload the e100 module (or restart if needed) to initiate a firmware upload. After that is done, please look in /var/log/syslog for firmware loading messages and paste them here.
