I tried Lucid Alpha3 and the netbook-launcher issue is fixed. The release is completely unusable, however, as EVERYTHING except netbook- launcher flashes white several times a second (weird random-seeming blinking). The netbook-launcher displays perfectly, no dead areas, nothing.
The flashing is a different bug, for a different report (but what to file it against? there doesn't appear to be a bug filed already). Would you happen to know if the original bug is indeed with the launcher? Or is it xorg?
