Experiencing this, making Lucid Lynx unusable... Performed clean install, boots up fine the first time, not cleanly, but working... then, will never boot up again. Reports "could not write bytes: broken pipes" then flashes the boot screen and goes black screen with a cursor and a working mouse pointer, and any key press is shown in some encrypted format. No HDD activity, nothing.
