I found that pm_trace didn't show up anything because I was running a custom live version and hadn't included the contents of /boot to save space.
I've done two tests: 1) using the Ubuntu i386 Live CD - 2.6.31-17 2) using a custom x86_64 version which has a later kernel - 2.6.31.19 One thing I did notice is that the caps lock led doesn't work from the terminal, it still enables caps, from within X it's fine. Another thing, when it resumes from suspend, if you don't take too long, my monitor will go into standby even though it was already on (green led on the front). When the systems resumes from suspend I'm able to enter text via the keyboard to get a dmesg output and cleanly reboot the system. The dmesg_*_thaw.txt is the dmesg output when the system resumes from suspend and the dmesg_*_reboot.txt file is the dmesg output once the system has been rebooted. >From 2.6.31-17: [ 1.049029] Magic number: 0:436:478 [ 1.049076] hash matches /build/buildd/linux-2.6.31/drivers/base/power/main.c:382 >From 2.6.31-19: [ 2.258795] Magic number: 0:291:740 [ 2.258842] hash matches /build/buildd/linux-2.6.31/drivers/base/power/main.c:419 Does this help in finding the cause of the problem? ** Attachment added: "dmesg_2.6.31-17_thaw.txt" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/40311617/dmesg_2.6.31-17_thaw.txt ** Attachment added: "dmesg_2.6.31-17_reboot.txt" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/40311618/dmesg_2.6.31-17_reboot.txt ** Attachment added: "dmesg_2.6.31-19_thaw.txt" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/40311619/dmesg_2.6.31-19_thaw.txt ** Attachment added: "dmesg_2.6.31-19_reboot.txt" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/40311620/dmesg_2.6.31-19_reboot.txt -- [MSI MS-7329] suspend/resume failure [non-free: nvidia] https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/390158 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
