Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gedit

I am using gedit as a lightweight way to manage an Openembedded
development tree. This tree contains a very large number of files. I
have the left pane active that lists all of the available files. After
a few minutes of use, Gedit slows down and becomes unresponsive until I
force a kill and restart the application. If I look in the system
monitor, it is using 100% of the core that it is living on and using
35MB of memory. It seems like it may have an issue with a large number
of items in its navigator pane.
