I'd rather not have to reinstall my system, and I don't really have the
bandwidth. I think this bug is important, as I don't believe that I did
anything particularly unusual, and I think having a smooth upgrade path

The binary package "couchdb" is not installed, but I believe it's not
necessary (provide a system daemon?). I installed it to check, but that
made no difference. It is now removed once again.
