Binary package hint: kubuntu-desktop
without "noapic nolapic irqpoll" the last seen string is "30.752259 io sheduler
cfq registered (default)" then system hangs.
with "noapic nolapic irqpoll", or just with "noapic", or just with "noapic
nolapic" only black screen appears. then system hangs too.
(it's about kubuntu herd 5)
when I tried ubuntu 6.10, "noapic nolapic" worked, but X - didn't
I think that's because my nvidia 8800 gts isn't supported
I was told how to install driver offline, but it didn't help too, because
driver hadn't found some files it needed...
so I want to use Ubuntu very much, but still don't know how...
