tla-buildpackage 0.9.14 contains a fix for the FTBFS but it depends on the python-apt 0.8 API. A Feature Freeze exception is for the python-apt 0.8 API is getting currently discussed in bug #531518. I'd prefer to sync tla-buildpackage 0.9.14 if the python-apt 0.8 API gets into lucid or undo the changes for the python-apt 0.8 API from tla-buildpackage 0.9.14.
