1) This is not an invalid bug. 2) It is a serious problem that will cost Ubuntu users. It is an unwelcome change. 3) Users should never have to resort to gconftool for something like this. 4) It concerns me that Ubuntu has been restricting user customization in the last few releases (removal of GDM theming, for example) and now we see this... wow.
