Sojourner, Sorry that I had dropped the ball on this bug, I have just followed your directions for duplicating the bug on Karmic, and it works as designed. If you install gnome-sharp2-examples first, then gnome-sharp2 it doesn't remove anything and installs without any flaws on by 64-bit Karmic.
