this is reproducible.
1) boot computer, login
2) suspend
3) resume
4) apport tells me there has been a serious kernel error, this is the common 
and harmless,

suspend_test_finish+0x88/0x90()
(also visible in /var/log/messages)
5) click through to report this error.
6) in the activity monitor i can see lots of IOwait
7) dmesg shows lots of "ioatdma 0000:00:08.0: reset" and the trace

8) hard lock follows shortly

i have reproduced this 3 times now.
