Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. If you could test the
current Ubuntu development version, this would help us a lot. If you can
test it, and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could
upload updated logs by running apport-collect <bug #>, and any other
logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

Please note, that in recent versions of language-selector changes made
to the language settings are applied immediately. That was a design
decision to simplify the UI and avoid unnecessary mouse clicks.

The second issue you reported, about the packages not being installed,
should be reported as a separate bug if this is still an issue. It
should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of
the development release - Lucid Lynx. It would help us greatly if you
could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next
release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release
at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your
help.
