Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

I normally get a login screen when resuming from suspend. Since updates
a couple of days ago, this login screen has been missing and resume
comes straight back to the desktop.

This is clearly not very secure at all.

I've checked out my Gnome configuration, and the key /apps/gnome-power-
manager/lock/suspend is true.
