Hello, Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.
Specifically we need info about the extra packages you installed and where you got them. If they are supplied by a third party it is very hard for the Ubuntu community to support them. We have general instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Thanks! Also, a quick search on your printer brings up this guide for making Brothere Printers work with Ubuntu. I haven't tried it, buy you may find it helpful. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=590793 ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New => Incomplete -- no scanner pheripheriques for brother dcp385c https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/541873 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
