[Update] The behavior on a recent update causes the brightness function keys to stop working. The brightness no longer goes down, however the indicator applet for the brightness shows up every 10 seconds for each key press. It shows the bar lowering but the screen does not dim or brighten.

When I remove the ac and switch to battery power, I expected the screen to dim - automatically. Instead the screen stays at a normal brightness.
