Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xsplash
When booting the Ubuntu 10.04 Beta 1 amd64 LiveCD (downloaded through bittorrent) it gets to the splash screen and works for a while but then just as the dots all turn orange and it seems like it is going to load X it crashes hard. No amount of Ctrl+Alt+<anything> has any effect, the only solution is resetting the computer. FYI, I have a Geforce 7600GT video card and an Intel Q9550 CPU (motherboard is Intel DG33TL or something like that). FYI2, I was able to get into the LiveCD desktop by pressing Ctrl+Alt+F1 during the splash screen but before it crashes and getting into a framebuffer console, but when I installed the beta and rebooted, it crashed at the splash screen again just like before. Except this time, I couldn't get into the framebuffer console because there is no grub menu. ** Affects: xsplash (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Crash at end of splash screen in Beta 1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/544119 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
