- expected it to install and start, but the GUI (domainjoin-gui) would not
launch.
- tried from command prompt (including purge of the DEB per another bug report)
- still no success;

starting manually from /etc/init.d naturally didn't work either.
NB:
Problem replicated (same effect) by upgrading an already-domain-joined Karmic
instance
Problem is not critical for me, but I would imagine that it would be for
many....
If there's anything I can do to test, let me know - but please bear in
mind I'm not especially technical.
Not sure if it's related, but Lucid currently complains that the 'NX'
facility is not enabled in bios. (it is, and VirtualBox is configured to
support it for this virtual machine...)
