Hi Martin, On trying to remove beagle the other day I was prompted to do dpkg --configure -a which brought up a lot of Python related stuff. I haven't had another crash since then.
Here is the output of dpkg -s python-gnome2 : Package: python-gnome2 Status: install ok installed Priority: optional Section: python Installed-Size: 1208 Maintainer: Ubuntu Core developers <ubuntu-devel-discuss@lists.ubuntu.com> Architecture: i386 Source: gnome-python Version: 2.18.0-0ubuntu1 Replaces: python2.3-gnome2, python2.4-gnome2 Provides: python2.4-gnome2, python2.5-gnome2 Depends: libart-2.0-2 (>= 2.3.16), libatk1.0-0 (>= 1.13.1), libbonobo2-0 (>= 2.15.0), libbonoboui2-0 (>= 2.15.1), libc6 (>= 2.5-0ubuntu1), libcairo2 (>= 1.3.14), libfontconfig1 (>= 2.4.0), libgconf2-4 (>= 2.13.5), libglib2.0-0 (>= 2.12.9), libgnome-keyring0 (>= 0.7.1), libgnome2-0 (>= 2.14.1), libgnomecanvas2-0 (>= 2.11.1), libgnomeui-0 (>= 2.17.1), libgnomevfs2-0 (>= 1:2.17.90), libgtk2.0-0 (>= 2.10.3), libice6 (>= 1:1.0.0), liborbit2 (>= 1:2.14.1), libpango1.0-0 (>= 1.16.0), libpopt0 (>= 1.10), libsm6, libx11-6, libxcursor1 (>> 1.1.2), libxext6, libxfixes3 (>= 1:4.0.1), libxi6, libxinerama1, libxrandr2 (>= 2:1.2.0), libxrender1, python-support (>= 0.3.4), python (<< 2.6), python (>= 2.4), python-gtk2 (>= 2.10.3), python-pyorbit (>= 2.0.1-4), python-gnomecanvas, python-gconf Suggests: python-gnome2-dbg Conflicts: python2.3-gnome2, python2.4-gnome2 Description: Python bindings for the GNOME desktop environment This archive contains modules that allow you to write GNOME programs in Python. Original-Maintainer: Sebastien Bacher <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> There was no output from python -c 'import gnome' : It is likely that the dpkg --configure -a solved whatever it was. Thanks for the speedy reply!
