1. No, during guest session the icon for gnome-type-monitor looks fine. Also, everything looks very different with black window decorations and such. Switching my main session to Ambience theme didn't help.
2. No, I have yet to face such a problem with any other icon. 3. .xsession-errors has a lot of messages.
