Excellent news! Therefore, it is very likely that this bug is
definitively fixed in ubuntu 10.04. Installing ubuntu 10.04 is a bit
early now as it is still in beta and not recommended for production use.
However ubuntu 10.04 passed the FeatureFreeze, which means that the rest
of the next months won't introduce new features, only bugfixes. You can
be patient and wait until it gets stable and released in one month
(April 29th), after what ubuntu 9.10 will automatically invite you to
upgrade, or you can install/upgrade to 10.04 now if this bugs is an
important problem for you.

If you do so, I invite you to make sure that your hardware (wifi, sound,
graphics, etc) works correctly in the LiveCD and to read the releases
notes to make sure that no features you rely on have known bugs in
current beta. According to your comment, I'm marking this bug as fix
released, however if at anytime you can reproduce this problem again on
ubuntu 10.04 with latest kernel, please feel free to set back the bug
status to "New".

If you need additional support, please use forums, launchpad answers, or
you can also email me directly if you feel that I can be helpful on
anything.

Thanks for your bug report
