Public bug reported: Description: Ubuntu lucid (development branch) Release: 10.04
I recently updated my Asus EeePC 1005HA to the Lucid beta (Netbook Remix Edition) and have noticed that when the computer starts getting warm and the fan kicks in, it often fails to turn off again even when all programs have been closed and the computer has cooled down - to the point where it is running at full speed (very noisy) and blowing out completely cold air. When this happens, the only way to stop the fan running is to restart the computer - at which point the computer returns to normal again. The expected behaviour is that the fan should only run when needed - and when the computer cools down, the fan speed should then decrease or indeed stop altogether. However, at the moment it is getting "stuck" on what would seem the top fan speed. Sorry but I don't know which is the relevant package for filing this bug. Do let me know if I can provide any more information that would be useful in solving this issue. Also - I should point out that I am using the standard gnome desktop rather than the netbook interface that is offered in NRE. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Fan running constantly on Asus EeePC 1005HA https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/546272 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
