** Description changed: I use Xubuntu 10.04 with the latest (up to 18:00 25.03.2010 Moscow time) updates installed. If automatic login is turned on, usb devices do not get automounted when plugged in. Steps to produce this issue: -use latest xubuntu LL beta -turn on automatic login (I enabled it in the installation dialog) - -plug any usb flash stick or external HDD + -boot the system + -plug in any usb flash stick or external HDD If you are autologin-ed, you can log off, then log in as the same user and everything goes normal then. If you are autologin-ed and plug a usb stick in, you may execute "gksu thunar &" and discover that root can see it, mount it, etc. But thunar without root privileges can not see the stick. I tested this issue with 2 usb sticks and one external HDD.
