Public bug reported: I get a Fatal Error running Ubuntu 10.4_Beta1 Virtual Machine on Non PAE enabled VirtualBox host.
I'm running VirtualBox 3.16 on Ubuntu 9.04 with a NOn PAE enabled kernel (I't running on a laptop with 2Gb Ram). When I install a "minimal virtual machine" from the Ubuntu 10.4 Beta1 i386 server iso image, the virtual machine aborts during startup with the following error: "00:00:17.560 Changing the VM state from 'RUNNING' to 'FATAL_ERROR'. 00:00:17.635 Console: VM runtime error: fatal=true , errorID=PAEmode message="The guest is trying to switch to the PAE mode which is currently disabled by default in VirtualBox. PAE support can be enabled using the VM settings (General/Advanced)"" I can't enable PAE in VirtualBox because it's not enabled in the host kernel, as machine has only got 2Gb of RAM, so enabling PAE would be pointless. I have attached a copy of the log output from the crash. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Fatal Error running Ubuntu 10.4_Beta1 Virtual Machine on Non PAE enabled VirtualBox host https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/548726 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
