Public bug reported: Binary package hint: pulseaudio
Problem: On startup, but NOT ALWAYS, the sound is not available. Expected: Sound always works. Actual: Sometimes, on boot, sound is missing Investigating for known bugs results in no extra information. That is, having read the page: "DebuggingSoundProblems/KarmicCaveats" https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingSoundProblems/KarmicCaveats#Another%20process%20locking%20the%20sound%20card and testing a few scenarios, I still have no idea what is wrong. Here is the output from a check which should tell me if something else has taken the audio device (other than pulseaudio). s...@svubuntux2:~$ sudo fuser -v /dev/dsp* /dev/snd/* /dev/seq* s...@svubuntux2:~$ s...@svubuntux2:~$ s...@svubuntux2:~$ As you can see; Nothing. I am not sure how else to troubleshoot this. But I figure this is a bug at least SOMEWHERE ... as the sound was working perfectly (without need for firmware or such) in Karmic.
