Support calls from people buying machines with Ubuntu pre-installed
declined 30% after we made this change just on the machines being
shipped through OEM's. People who are "trying to get online" were
clearly preferring wifi, and unable to find the network indicator unless
it looked like wifi.

However, in the case where there is *no* wifi card, we should probably
take a different approach. A patch would be welcome, if not for Lucid
then certainly for Lucid+1.
