This appears to be a wish to not have to enter the complete gmail e-mail
address when creating a google talk/facebook account. I have changed the
package to gabble since this deals with the connection manager and not empathy
itself.
It would be nice if you could forward this bug upstream by following the
directions at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME.
