Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: alsa-utils

$ lsb_release -rd
Description:    Ubuntu lucid (development branch)
Release:        10.04

Fully upgraded (as of 1-04-2010).

After every reboot the front channel is muted and 0%. I need to run
'alsamixer' and unmute it and put some volume on it to hear anything.
Volume of the rest of the channels is preserved correctly.

$ lspci | grep -i audio
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation N10/ICH 7 Family High Definition Audio
Controller (rev 01)

It happens both my desktop and laptop - both with Intel audio chip.

** Affects: alsa-utils (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
