Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: acpi-support

After formatting my HDD and installing Ubuntu Lucid Lynx, Suspend and
hibernate no longer work.

In Karmic Koala everything was (almost well), but in Lucid Lynx, when I
try to suspend my PC the screen becomes black and the back-light remain
switched on; in this context the system freezes and it is not possible
even to come back.
