Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager
Update manager starts properly, it shows the new release, and it starts the Distribution Upgrade window. Preparing to upgrade goes well, Setting new software channels runs till the end, and halts on "Calculating the changes", the bar full. I ran from a terminal. The terminal output is extracting 'lucid.tar.gz' authenticate 'lucid.tar.gz' against 'lucid.tar.gz.gpg' WARNING: Failed to read mirror file And that's all. It took about 7 minutes, before the upgrade continued. Note that there was no progress bar that showed it was waiting for anything, leading me to first think the installation hung. It would be better if there was either a progress bar showing progress, or a notice that it might take a while. ** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- calculating changes takes long, with no indication https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/555860 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
