Hi Ted, This is simply a bug about the Ubuntu package needing to create a POT template to make it play well with Ubuntu's translation infrastructure. To discuss other aspects, I'd recommend either taking it offline or e-mailing the Ubuntu Translators list at ubuntu-translators(at)lists(dot)ubuntu(dot)com. Note also that many Ubuntu translators, like myself and others are well aware of the existence of the Translation Project and are active there too. Working both in the upstream and Ubuntu teams allows us to have a more efficient collaboration.
