I have bigbrownchunx-skype-dbus only, too. What I was trying to say is that if you use pidgin-skype with pidgin you get two protocols "Skype" and "Skype (D-Bus)" and the latter doesn't work in pidgin either. The former does but, given the names, I think telepathy-haze only uses the latter.
