python-indicate installed and the problem is still there (didn't re- start computer). Clicking mail icon then "set up broadcast account" brings up already configured gwibber (twitter) account whereas clicking "mdevenish" (in my case) then broadcast accounts brings up the broadcast account set up dialog.
