Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-session

I just upgraded to feisty from edgy. When logging into gdm, gnome loads
but i get the "Your session only lasted less than 10 seconds..." dialog.
If I hit OK and acknowledge it, gnome restarts and logs me back out to
GDM login screen. If I ignore it, and keep the window open I can go
about without any problems. I noticed I cannot load gnome-session-
properties though. I tried deleting ~/.gnome2/sessions but I still have
the same problem. Here is the output of .xsession-errors file:

/etc/gdm/PreSession/Default: Registering your session with wtmp and utmp
/etc/gdm/PreSession/Default: running: /usr/X11R6/bin/sessreg -a -w
/var/log/wtmp -u /var/run/utmp -x "/var/lib/gdm/:0.Xservers" -h "" -l ":0"
"justin"
/etc/gdm/Xsession: Beginning session setup...
