after installing patched kernel, my external display still isn't usable, i found one resolution/refresh rate, when it was readable and looked nearly perfect, there were only some small waves visible, but it had horrible refresh rate, like 50hz (but according to the options it was supposed to be 85hz) also at some other resolutions same parts of the display where readable while some where not. I am not sure if it is not some issue with wrong vertical and horizontal sync, but this CRT monitor used to work normally on 9.10
