Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager
When update-manager updates firefox any running instances of firefox will usually be left in an unusable state: * no new windows or tabs van be opened, * parts of the user interface will stop responding, * when quitting firefox it will quit instantly quit instead of asking whether any open tabs should be saved. I find the third point very annoying, especially that it is the only course of action one can takes given the first two. Perhaps update- manager could just kill firefox before updating, so any open tabs can be recovered when it is restarted after the update. ** Affects: firefox Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: firefox Importance: Undecided Status: New -- update-manager breaks running firefox https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/560003 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
