Ooops - in too much of a rush. I have tried re-installing the printer - it is no longer detected. I deleted it because all jobs were marked stopped after about a minute, with no actual output. Sometimes deleting and reinstalling works.... not this time. Prior to this problem I had not printed anything for a week or so.
The Device Manager ( from Control panel) shows "Stylus CX6600" under USB Printer Interface.
