Connect to ftp site in MC: Message scroll as it connects and then it
stops with:

ftpfs: Reading FTP directory ftp... (strict rfc959)(chdir first)

I am behind a firewall and proxy, but I don't believe the proxy is
required for FTP access. I can access the FTP site with or without the
ftp_proxy variable set, in active or passive mode, with the "ftp"
command on the command-line. MC pre-4.7.0 was also able to connect to
the site with whatever default settings it had.
