Public bug reported: Binary package hint: plymouth
I have a very strange bug with Ubuntu Lucid. Sometimes the system time and date is changed to 31 December 2079 and when I try to boot Ubuntu the system does not start. I put as affected package plymouth just because a message notified me it was killed, but I am not sure if this is the source of my troubles. The system is stuck in a infinite loop in which it tries to run fsck to fix an inconsistency in the superblock last mount time. In this context it is impossible to stop the check and try to run Ubuntu anyway. The only possible workaround is to change the system time and date and then, boot a live version of Ubuntu and run fsck on the partition affected by this inconsistency, in my case / and /boot I hope this bug could be solved soon because it happens almost every time I run Ubuntu.
