Thanks for the report, but this is by design. <https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SoftwareCenter#searching>: "When searching anywhere in the Center, any word in the search string that is followed by a space or punctuation should be treated as a a complete word, while any word that is not should be treated as if it may be either a complete word or the beginning of a word."
So when you search for "info hardware", USC looks for items that use the exact word "info" and any word starting with "hardware". When you search for "hardware info", USC looks for items that use the exact word "hardware" and any word starting with "info", such as "information". To verify that it's working as it should, you can search for "info hardware " (with a trailing space) and "hardware info " (again with a trailing space) and see that they return exactly the same results. ** Changed in: software-center (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- Order of words in search term gives different search results https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/525699 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
